SOULFLY: 'Prophecy' Demo Recordings Available For Download

August 8, 2005

SOULFLY fan site SoulflyWeb.com has uploaded demo versions of three of the tracks that were included on SOULFLY's last studio album, 2004's "Prophecy". Check out the songs "Prophecy", "Defeat U", and a cover of HELMET's "In the Meantime" at SoulflyWeb.com. The tracks were laid down in Phoenix, Arizona during the pre-production sessions for the "Prophecy" CD.

While in Serbia last month, SOULFLY filmed two videos in support of the upcoming "Dark Ages" CD, due out on October 4 via Roadrunner Records. A video for "Frontlines" was filmed at a site that NATO bombed several years ago, and a clip for "Carved Inside" was shot at a 700-year-old fortress on the shores of the Danube river.

As previously reported, former MEGADETH and current F5 bassist David Ellefson will be filling in for SOULFLY bassist Bobby Burns at two SOULFLY live shows next week. Burns is unable to make the dates due to a "family emergency." The details are as follows:

Aug. 12 – Tempe, AZ @ Marquee Theatre
Aug. 13 – Long Beach, CA @ Vault 350

Ellefson played on four cuts on "Prophecy" and appears on the song "Riotstarter" on the band's follow-up album, "Dark Ages".

SOULFLY will be embarking on a U.S. tour in October and November to support "Dark Ages". Confirmed dates so far are as follows:

Oct. 13 – McAllen, TX @ La Villa Real
Nov. 19 - Las Vegas, NV @ House Of Blues

"Dark Ages" was produced by SOULFLY mainman Max Cavalera and was mixed by Terry Date, who has previously worked with PANTERA and DEFTONES, among others.
